This can literally mean grab a map, an atlas or
travel book.
Then again there are plenty of travel programmes to watch and see on TV and YouTube!
When it comes to choosing somewhere to go for a holiday you must factor at least some of the following:-
Distance of Travel
Transport
Weather
Budget
Clothing
Baggage
Accessibility – this means physically if you have any mobility problems
Company – are you going alone –with a spouse- with a friend?
Where do you want to stay? An hotel? Guest House? caravan? AirBnB?
Or maybe you would like to take a cruise? A Safari? A coach Tour? A river Cruise?
What do you want to see and do.
Do you want to:-
Sit on a beach all day
Swim in a pool or the sea
Visit places of interest such as museums, castles, ruins, theatre, local entertainments, walks, drives, fishing, riding, hot air ballooning.
Do you want to hire a car?
Do you want to go where it is hot, warm, humid, cold, snow, ice?
Do you want to stay by the seaside? Inland? Mountains? Desert?
Do you have a Bucket List you would like to tick some things off of or even add to?
Any of these not researched properly can lead to a disappointing holiday.
And that is before you choose the destination!
The thing with being disabled is that sometimes we feel held back. Don’t be!
Planning the holiday is all part of the fun even if it takes as long as a year to plan!
If you are going with someone else make sure you work on it together, after all, this will be about sharing the experience.
And finally, once you have decided where you are going? Well that’s when the truly holiday begins!
